2015 almost ended in couple of hours. I haven't even finished my Bangkok travelog, but whatever, here is my first ever travel vlog! I didn't film much, I actually skipped most of my trip because I didn't intend to upload it at first. But it doesn't turn out so bad, what do you think? I will also blog about the trip soon *fingers crossed*, maybe once I finish the Bangkok travelog haha.

I've always envied those who are able to travel bunch of times in a year, who have all the time in the world to hop from one place to another, and obviously those who don't have to worry about the money. I love traveling, I really do. Though I usually do it with my friends or family, couple months ago I managed to travel all by myself because everyone's busy, it was such a big accomplishment for me. Scared? No. I know it was gonna be pretty tough for me to be traveling solo for the first time, and that's why I decided to go to KL instead of other cities (at first, I was planning to go to HK), because I know the place pretty well. Lonely? To be honest, at first it's kinda lonely to be alone while waiting at the airport and such. But I think I handled it very well in the end, I encountered to new things that I wouldn't get if I traveled with my friends. I made friends with the locals and tourists, and I'm still in touch with most of them until now.

I love getting lost in new places I've never been before. I don't mind getting tanned from walking under the sun for hours. I love visiting new museums. I really fond of the beaches. I love that I don't have to think about any other than having fun. And honestly, I hate using the public transportation in my hometown, I always drive myself everywhere here, but I always feel excited before get in to bus or train to start new journeys when I travel.

'Travel more' will always be my resolution, starting from 2016. I'll try to travel more in the future (not only for work but leisure also), document/film it, and share it to you guys. I don't want to spoil it, but actually I already planned a bit for my next trip in 2016, though it's not gonna happen soon because I have some events to organise from January to March (not beauty related if you're wondering lol).

Lastly, I want to say Merry Christmas (better late than never) and Happy New Year! 2016 is gonna be so great for all of us, I'm really looking forward to it!

So last week I went to Veranda Restaurant, Kuningan to attend Marina event. They have new range of make up products called 'Smooth & Glow UV'. As far as I know, they launched 'Smooth & Glow' body lotion already early this year (or late last year), and now they have makeup products from BB Cream, Powdery Foundation, Two Way Cake, and Compact Powder! So many selection for everyone's preference :) The product range is enriched with natural micro-fine powder, vitamin C, mulberry, and SPF 20 PA ++ that make the face look smoother, blemish-free, bright, and protect the face so it can shine beautifully and naturally.

I love this tagline: Be You Own Kind of Beauty. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it's fairly subjective in my opinion, we all have different perception of beauty. And I think that's why Marina has different types of products launched at the same time :)

Smooth & Glow UV BB Cream

All of the products have three different shades: Ivory, Peach, and Natural. And they have SPF 20 PA++, which is good to use on daily basis. If you have light skin tone, go for the Ivory, and if you have dark skin tone, choose the Natural instead. If you're confused of what to choose, go for the Peach, which is kinda in between of those two shades.

The pigmentation of the BB Cream is amazing! I didn't expect it to be that good actually, since it's BB Cream anyway, right? The consistency is quite thick, but you don't need too much product for your face, it covers up blemishes so you don't really have to conceal it with concealer. I prefer to use the BB Cream using my fingers, but you can use brush, sponge, or beauty blender if you'd like.

Smooth & Glow UV Compact Powder

If you prefer dewy skin, you can go just by using the BB Cream alone. But since I have oily skin, and I prefer my skin to be fairly matte, I always use powder to top off the makeup base. Again, the Compact Powder has three shades: Ivory, Peach, and Natural. It comes with soft puff, but I prefer to use my powder brush because that's just how I like to roll hahah. Using powder brush is more efficient in my opinion :)

The Compact Powder keeps my face matte for couple of hours, so if you also have oily skin like mine, you'd like to blot throughout the day, or keep the powder in your handbag for touch ups.

Smooth & Glow UV Two Way Cake

If you need more coverage, instead of the Compact Powder, I recommend you to try the Two Way Cake, it's long lasting and gives more coverage than compact powder.

It also have separate compartment for the sponge, so it's totally hygienic as long as you keep cleaning the sponge every few weeks, or get new sponges if you want, they're quite affordable and can be purchased at department stores. And don't share your makeup tools (especially sponge) to anyone.

Smooth & Glow UV Powdery Foundation (Refill)

And lastly, the Powdery Foundation, which I like very much! These days, I fond of natural make up more, so I prefer powder foundation for daily use.

This pack is the refill one, that also come with a sponge. However, I use my Sigma Round Kabuki Brush (F82) to apply the Powdery Foundation, because it gives more flawless finish. It doesn't look cakey at all, though it doesn't give much coverage if you wear it alone. But I think that's what makes it good to use daily, whether if you're going to school/university or work.

All in all, you have to choose the right product of Marina Smooth & Glow UV for your skin and preference. You can mix the products or shades if you want, for example: use BB Cream in Ivory, and use Compact Powder in Peach.

I'm sure you all know SK-II brand, and the most famous product from them, which is the Facial Treatment Essence (FTE). If I could only pick one product from SK-II, it would be the FTE for sure! I also think that SK-II product (especially the limited edition FTE!!) is a perfect and thoughtful gift that you can give to your loved ones, it's suitable to all skin types, and I'm sure they'll love and use it.

Since it's almost Christmas, don't you find it hard to buy different types of gifts for everyone? Sometimes I worry whether they like my gifts, will they find it useful, or useless instead? But for the last couple of months, I've been gifting my family/friends makeup or skincare set as birthday gifts, because I know they'll appreciate the thought. Who doesn't love limited edition products anyway? :)

I think it's been a year since my last CC Cream review! If you never heard anything about CC Cream, it's a moisturizer, foundation, and sunscreen all in one product, it's pretty much a skincare infused makeup, and I recently started using Hada Labo CC Cream for my daily basis. It has two different variants: Ultimate Whitening & Whitening Anti Aging, and each variant has two different shades: Light (Royal Ivory), and Medium (Elegant Beige). They both have different functions, depending on what your skin needs.

The packaging is small and fairly efficient with the cap, it's very light and travel friendly in my opinion. All of the CC Cream have the same texture, it's creamy and easy to blend, and also same matte finish. I personally like it, because I don't need to powder off. The coverage is really sheer, but I actually don't really mind. There are some days when I need extra coverage, but there are some days when I reach for natural look and will grab this CC Cream instead of my full coverage foundation.

Royal Ivory (Light)

Elegant Beige (Medium)

Though they only have two shades, the lighter shade (Royal Ivory) matches my skintone quite perfectly. And since the texture is really creamy, it sinks in into the skin easily either by using my fingers, brush or makeup sponge. This CC Cream gives slight amount of coverage that I need for everyday.

Hada Labo CC Cream Ultimate Anti Aging

For light and medium skin • Perfect Skin tone • Anti Aging • UV Protection • Moisturizing • Mild texture • Silky • Smooth • No fragrance • No alkohol

The second variant is the Ultimate Anti Aging. I would recommend this for those who are already above 30 years old. Both variants have SPF 35 with PA +++ and that's why I like to use them on day time, to protect my skin without applying additional sunscreen.

Ultimate Anti Aging Royal Ivory (Light)

Ultimate Anti Aging Elegant Beige (Medium)

Here is the comparison of shades, both either the Royal Ivory or Elegant Beige from two variants have the exact same shade, same texture, and same finish result. So you can just choose the variant you need, if you're still under 30 years old, I'd recommend you to use the Ultimate Whitening, and get the Ultimate Anti Aging if you're above 30 years old.

I usually take some amount of CC Cream on the back of my hand, and apply it all over my face using my clean fingers.

I was using the Ultimate Whitening (shade: Royal Ivory), as you can see it helps to even out skin tone even though it’s really sheer. If used regularly, it will lightens up blemishes, acne scar, and even out skin tone even more. It’s a good deal for those who are still recovering from acne scars.

The staying power is pretty good, however it doesn't have oil control so I need to blot throughout the day. But anyway, this CC Cream is easy to find at all drugstores and also very affordable! You don't need too much product as a little amount goes a long way :)
