Some people like mountains and some people prefer the seas, I don't know about you guys but I actually like both equally, but the moment I decided to go to Phuket, I told myself that I had to stay by the beach! Since there are so many beautiful beaches in Phuket, I had to pick the best one for myself, and that's why I made my decision to stay at Nook Dee Boutique Resort.
Nook Dee is located at Kata Beach, the most popular beach in Phuket, with the perfect combination of large white beach and stunning blue sea. Every deluxe room in Nook Dee has view of the beach, it was such a bliss to wake up in such beautiful place, I will never get tired of it!
Besides Kata Beach, this resort is also close to other beach called Kata Noi, which is more quiet compared to Kata Beach. And thankfully Nook Dee provides free shuttle service to Kata Noi and Kata 5 times a day! It's actually only 5 minutes away from each other, so you can walk if you want but I always use the shuttle service provided when going to the beach or going back to the hotel.
Not to mention I can spend time at Nook Dee's cutest lobby while waiting for the shuttle bus. As you must have known already, elephant has been Thailand's icon for centuries, and you can find dozens of these cute elephant plushies everywhere in the resort! Not even an adult can resist them :)
I got views of Kata Beach on the right, and Kata Noi Beach on the left. I spent most of my time at Kata Beach where I could swim, eat, and party, but I also liked being at Kata Noi Beach where there's less people so I could just hang around without being bothered by crowd.
As expected of Nook Dee that claims to be the one and only true 5-star boutique resort in Phuket, it has excellent facilities like gym, spa, bar, and one of my favorite, Roydee Restaurant that has outdoor area where you can enjoy your meal while having the best view of Phuket.
And as a beauty enthusiast, I was so pleased to find Elle Spa products in the bathroom! Not only body wash, shampoo, and conditioner to keep my hair and body fresh after a day at the beach, but also hand soap and body lotion, basically the complete collection of Elle Spa!
And haven't I told you that I also could gaze and the beach while having a bath? There's this glass divider between the bathroom, and you can close the window cover anytime you want. Both the bedroom and bathroom are spacious and colorful, just as its name (Nook Dee means very fun).
Clearly, this is by far the cutest room I've ever stayed in! I love how colorful the wall is, and the natural light that comes from huge windows. I absolutely recommend you to spend special moments with your loved ones here, if I'm not wrong, they could also help to arrange special events like honeymoon or anniversary, and even marriage proposal! How could someone say no when staying in this beautiful island? ;)
Public transportation in Phuket might be not as good as in Bangkok, but you can get couple of options to getting around the island and to Nook Dee itself.
How to get there?
There are two options that you can choose once you arrive in Phuket. The first option is to take taxi, which is the easiest and quickest way to go to the hotel. It costs THB 1,000 from airport to Kata area. The other option is to take minibus, which only costs THB 200/person. However, you need to wait for other people to fill up the minibus (waiting time is around 30 minutes). The minibus will drop you right at the hotel, but you might be the last person to be dropped off, so if patience is not your virtue I'd suggest you to take taxi instead, especially if you travel in group.
Getting around Phuket
You can easily find taxi in every corner, Grab is also available in the island and might costs a little bit less than taxi and you don't need to haggle. But if you travel in small group, go try tuktuks or motorbike taxi, or if you can ride one, why not rent motorbike and explore Phuket Island by yourself?

All of these holiday and positive vibes were also shared by Nook Dee's helpful and attentive teams, they would check on us from time to time if we got everything right. It was nice to find their friendly faces or just to hear their 'Sawadee' greetings. I'd love to come back and enjoy life at the beach again soon.
